CPIR Introductory Course

CPIR Introductory Course

$1,250.00

The content covers the empirical background for the CPIR based on years of casework and empirical research performed at Carnegie Mellon’s Insider Threat Team and the Defense Personnel Security Research Center. The content takes students through each of the CPIR components drawing on detailed real world case data. As we go through the CPIR® variables students will work together to code a real international case. The evolution of the CPIR® from a checklist to an algorithmic database to a Structured Professional Judgment scale for scoring risk and comparing the scores of known “bads” and “goods” to current cases will be featured. The final class module will demonstrate the use of the CPIR® in investigations, including the identification of a leaker suspect from the financial community. The Introductory course prepares students for the more applied Advanced course which emphasizes the use of the CPIR-Index©, the Structured Professional Judgment scale derived from the framework.
